Our history
In the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic and the resulting economic crisis, Teya Artesanal emerged, providing the necessary tools to bring locally made products to communities across the Yucatan Peninsula throughout Mexico. Starting with a sustainable line of face masks from a single artisan producer, it had such an impact that within a few months, more artisan producers were added, laying the foundation for what would become the current pillars of the organization.
Over time, new styles began to be adopted, following trends, opinions, and customer feedback, combining them with the tradition of current products, creating a more attractive offering with the use of new colors and materials. By sharing this approach with artisan producers, it was possible to create a sustainable model that allows them to have a more stable income and the opportunity to continue working in their places of origin and in the company of their families, a key factor during the COVID-19 crisis.
Teya Artesanal is committed to generating and maintaining new collaborative relationships at fair prices with artisan producers and inclusively with Mexican society so that more and more people can learn about, recognize, and appreciate the cultural richness of the Yucatan Peninsula's well-made products. This value proposition has even reached people from different countries who have expressed interest in purchasing Teya Artesanal products, providing an international perspective to take these ideals to new frontiers.
